This semi-automatic projection welding machine is purpose-built for fusing metal rings to the inner mouth of half-section fuel tank shells. The upper electrode features an integral annular ring with 7 fixed protrusions that pre-fit the metal ring, while the lower circular platform positions the tank shell precisely. When the electrodes align, all 7 protrusions press and energize simultaneously, producing 7 consistent weld points in a single cycle.

Engineered for production efficiency, the unit operates on a manual-load, automatic-weld, manual-unload cycle that keeps cycle times short and operator involvement minimal. Forced water cooling inside the annular ring prevents annealing adhesion and supports continuous shift operation. One-Shot 7 Point Welding

Forced Water Cooling System

Internal water channels inside the annular electrode continuously cool the ring and protrusions, preventing annealing adhesion and sustaining reliable long-run operation. All waterway components are surface-treated against rust, with individual drains for easy blockage detection.

Working Principle

The operator places a half-section fuel tank shell on the lower circular platform and pre-fits the metal ring onto the upper electrode's 7 protrusions. Upon cycle start, the pneumatic cylinder drives the upper electrode down until the protrusions contact the ring and tank mouth inner wall. The transformer delivers low-impedance secondary current through soft copper strips to both electrode coils, energizing all 7 points simultaneously.
