Product Overview

This stationary AC resistance spot welder is engineered for high-volume fuel tank production, delivering seven synchronized weld points in a single clamping action. Rated at 150 KVA with a 500 kW power output, the machine welds a metal ring to the tank opening in under 0.5 seconds, achieving throughput several times higher than sequential spot welding methods. The semi-automatic cycle—manual loading, automatic welding, manual unloading—lets operators prepare the next workpiece while the machine runs, creating a parallel human-machine workflow that maximizes output per shift.

Designed for reliability and rapid changeover, the unit features a quick-release annular electrode ring that switches between different tank calibers in minutes without adjusting individual weld points. A high-response pneumatic system combined with precise SCR current control ensures compact, stable cycle timing, while automatic reset after each weld eliminates non-productive waiting. The 2000*1000*2400 mm footprint and 600 kg weight suit medium-to-large fabrication shops producing oil tanks, fuel reservoirs, and similar cylindrical assemblies.

Key Technical Advantages

Seven-Point Simultaneous Welding

Seven fixed embossing points on the annular electrode energize at once, producing seven welds in one alignment. Single-piece weld time stays under 0.5 seconds, cutting action time by roughly sevenfold versus point-by-point approaches and directly boosting piece-per-hour metrics.

Parallel Human-Machine Operation

The semi-automatic cycle—manual feed, automatic weld, manual pick—enables operators to stage the next workpiece during the weld cycle. This overlap reduces idle time and raises comprehensive output without requiring additional labor.

Quick-Change Annular Electrode

The one-piece circular electrode ring mounts and dismounts as a single unit, allowing caliber changes in just a few minutes. No per-point adjustment is needed, dramatically shortening changeover compared with conventional multi-point welders and enabling flexible batch production.

Automatic Reset for Continuous Cycling

After each weld, the machine returns to standby automatically. Operators remove the finished piece and start the next cycle directly, eliminating the non-production waiting time associated with manual reset procedures.

High-Response Pneumatic and SCR Coordination

A fast electromagnetic valve pairs with thyristor-based current control, keeping the timing between pressurization and energization tight. Rest intervals within each cycle can be tuned to a minimum, giving superior cycle control over traditional spot welders for consistent weld quality.

Durable Water-Cooled Components

Internally water-cooled electrodes and surface-treated waterway parts resist rust and maintain stable cooling performance. Independent drainage to the water tank lets operators spot blockages quickly, safeguarding electrode life and weld consistency over extended production runs.

Applications

Industry Typical Workpiece Welding Mode
Fuel Tank Manufacturing Oil tank shell + metal ring Projection spot welding, 7 points per cycle
Automotive Components Fuel filler necks, reservoir fittings Multi-point resistance welding
Metal Fabrication Cylindrical shells with ring inserts Pneumatic projection welding
Appliance Manufacturing Sealed tank assemblies AC spot welding

Working Principle

The machine uses a fixed convex point annular electrode assembly: one ring on the upper die and one on the lower die, each carrying seven protruding contact points. When the operator places the metal ring onto the upper electrode and the tank shell onto the lower platform, pressing the start button triggers the pneumatic cylinder to drive the upper electrode down. Both rings press the workpiece simultaneously, and the SCR controller energizes all seven points at once. Resistance heating at each convex point fuses the metal ring to the tank opening, forming seven weld nuggets in a single stroke. An integrated gas storage tank dampens pressure fluctuations to keep weld force stable, while internal water cooling carries heat away from the electrodes. After the weld completes, the cylinder retracts and the machine resets, ready for the next cycle.

Frequently Asked Questions

What materials can this welder join?

The unit welds steel, copper, and aluminum workpieces. It is primarily configured for fuel tank shells paired with metal rings, but electrode sets can be adapted for other cylindrical assemblies within the rated capacity.

How long does a changeover between tank sizes take?

Switching the annular electrode ring to a different caliber takes only a few minutes. The ring is replaced as a single unit, so no individual weld-point adjustment is required, minimizing production downtime.

Can the machine be integrated into an automated line?

Yes, the semi-automatic cycle can be extended with robotic loading and unloading on request. Our engineering team can configure the welder with automation interfaces to match your production flow.

What power supply is required?

The machine accepts 220 V, 380 V, or 440 V single-phase input, with a rated frequency of 50/60 Hz. Standard configuration uses 380 V; specify your local supply when ordering.

Do you provide sample welding before purchase?

Yes, we offer free sample welding and process design services. Our lab verifies weld quality on your actual workpieces to confirm the solution works before you commit.
